Cuba ! Cuba's 2008 World Music Festival! Never in the history of music has the world come together for such a grand event! Cuba, African, European, international, source and godmother to the most perfected of musical genres, whether they be instrumental, sung or danced, classical, traditional or popular. Cuba, the matrix for countless musicians and musical styles, who for centuries, have continuously followed one another, creating a place for themselves in the universal history of culture. Cuba, with her rituals transported from the ships coming from Europe, whose abnegation and tears of blood came to blend with waves of hope, which in time turned into melodies and expressive choreagraphy, but also tenacity and consecration. Cuba is 2008's World Music Festival, on the most wonderful beach in the world taken over by a world of beauty, top of the line hotel infrastructures, exquisite cuban cuisine, amazing platforms of musical encounters highlighted by rhythm, sounds and lights, rhum and cigares, and this all, with a touch of sunshine, offering the promise of a never-ending summer! Our common dream for a paradise on earth will finally come to be for this very first edition of Cuba's 2008 World Music Festival. Thanks to you. Daniel Cuxac |
